Charmaine & Mina's wedding plans were thrown awry cuz of lockdown and whatnot last year- but alas! They managed to pull through and put together an amazing and memorable day filled with old traditions and new! Many thanks to them for giving me the chance to cover my first Egyptian Coptic Orthodox ceremony complete with regal cloaks and actual crowns. I hadn't been to the St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in St Albans before and WOW. I gotta say it felt like I was in another country after all those months in lockdown! The stunning architecture and stylised golden artwork gave it such a distinct feel. One of my favourite parts about wedding photography is having a ticket to different cultures I wouldn't normally be a part of- I feel so lucky to be welcomed into these experiences by my wonderful couples (: After the ceremony we headed off for some bridal party portraits at the National Gallery of Victoria, then watched the sun set at Farm Vigano where they celebrated with an intimate reception of their closest friends and family. Making it through a tough year together and coming out stronger is definitely cause for celebration (:
